Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)

The temperature at which a polymer changes from a hard and relatively brittle condition to a viscous or rubbery condition. This transition generally occurs over a relatively narrow temperature range. It is not a phase transition. In this temperature range, many physical properties undergo significant and rapid changes, such as hardness, brittleness, thermal expansion and specific heat.
